Personal Work – Boston LDS Temple

I’ve been hoping to have some photos to blog for a few days now, but all the client work I have been doing recently is publicity work for a school.  I don’t have releases from all the parents to post the shots, so I’ll just have to direct you to the school website once the redesign is done.

So, I’ve decided to start posting some of my personal and practice shots as well as my client work.  I’ve toyed with starting a 365 photo project (where you take a photo a day and post it somewhere like Flickr or on a blog), but I’m not sure I’m ready to commit to such a huge project right now.  Instead, I’ll just post personal work here as I take it.

Unlike the snow we have today, Saturday was a beautiful, sunny, warm day.  Diggity watched G-Man while I went to the LDS Temple in Belmont for the morning.  I decided to take my camera with me.  I wasn’t sure what the light would be like when I got done, but I thought I would take the camera just in case.  I really like the shots I ended up with.  Here are some favorites:

I grabbed this next shot from my SmugMug gallery instead of linking to Flickr.  I like the watermark in the corner instead of the full bar on this picture:

The next two shots are from the same vantage point, but I edited them differently.  Which do you like better?

Emily – I would love to drive out there next week and take some pictures. I’ll either go with you guys or on my way to NYC.

Michal – thanks! I love the idea of taking pictures of temples wherever I go. Now I just need to get out to Sacramento! I’ll have to follow Diggity on his next trip to N. Cal.

Dana and anyone else that is interested – I just went into my SmugMug gallery and activated it so people can buy prints from my personal work gallery.

Go here:

Click on the “Personal Work” gallery and you can buy any of the prints. Also, the Personal Work prints are priced lower than the portraits. I spend a lot more time on the portraits. :)

Thanks, Panda! Glad you like them. I was planning on taking pictures of just the Bountiful Temple. In fact, I plan to take pictures whenever I visit a temple. I did tweak the colors more toward a 1970′s vibe. I liked the way it changed the sky.

I LOVE these shots. This is definitely a place to have good shots of. Can you do this at the Bountiful temple? I would love just shots of the temple like this.

I like the color version, though it seems to be a 1970s kind of filter, or maybe those are how the colors came out.

[...] friend Dana commented on the blue skies I had for my first two sets of temple pictures (seen here and here). When I first saw the clouds in the sky, I was a little disappointed not to have clear [...]
