They say bigger is better, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes smaller is better.
I was so honored to photograph Scott & Yahiza’s wedding in Central Park the week before Christmas. It was a beautiful, sunny day – a little bit cold – but the light was beautiful. And the day before was freezing. And the next day would bring a huge blizzard and a foot of snow to NYC, so they had pretty impeccable timing.
They were married on a hillside overlooking the park, and then the three of us were able to take some fabulous photographs in Central Park.
Scott told me he loves black and white photography. I’m always happy to oblige a love like that…
They’re a gorgeous couple AND they are a lot of fun. They laugh a lot. A whole lot. And it’s beautiful to watch.
Even with all of the laughing, we did get a couple serious shots…
We were getting pretty cold, so we headed across the park to try and catch some indoor shots. I love this photo. Don’t know why.
We were able to take some photos in a beautiful, warm location. And we probably weren’t supposed to be taking wedding photos there, but it starts with “Metro” and ends in “politan.” And I had to use my classic junior high excuse to get us into the building with a big camera and a woman in a white dress and a man in a suit – “The other security guard said we could…” Regardless, it was worth it. Look at how stunning Yahiza is…
Shot of the day. Love it, love it, love it.
Scott & Yahiza – it truly was an honor sharing your wedding day with you. You’re delightful together and I’m so thrilled you found each other.
Best,
Macy
