When I was pregnant with G-Man, we went to Utah for the holidays and while there, we had family portraits taken at the mall with my family. I thought it was pretty rude of them to do that to me, but I got married a week after my sister had her first child and a month before my sister-in-law did, so I think they figured it was great payback. *grin* While we were there, the mall photographer asked if I wanted a photo of Diggity and I. We both shook our heads violently and started to walk away. Then I thought about it and figured, why not? We hadn’t taken many photos of my pregnancy at that point, so we took the shot.
It was a highly awkward pose – especially for the two of us – but I’m so glad we did it. Awkward pose aside, you can see in our faces how much we loved our little guy already and how excited we were for his grand arrival. I’m glad we have that one photo to show him. And I never would have sought out the opportunity to have the photo done.
I’m a fan of maternity portraits.
I was excited for this session. I’ve done maternity sessions before, but never with a studio set up. R. is having a little girl, so she brought such fun props and had great ideas for her photos.
