Giveaway Friday | The Entitlement Trap

When I was first in college, I was fascinated with Marriage and Family Science. Even though I was completely bogged down with Musical Theater classes and struggling to fit religion and general ed classes in, I took as many family science classes as I could cram into my schedule. And in addition to the courses I was taking, I read as many parenting and family books as I could get my hands on outside of my classes. I still do. I remember the first time I read one of Linda & Richard Eyre's books. I read carefully and took notes and filed ideas away for when I would have my own family someday. I remember seeing them on television, and being so delighted that I knew who they were and loved their books, and there they were on OPRAH! I remember being so excited when I found out that I was going to be able to present at Time Out for Women with Linda and her daughter Shawni, and I was thrilled when I met them for the first time and they were just as kind and delightful as I thought they would be. And I guess that is why I respect the Eyres so much - they have raised an outstanding family. The ideas they have willingly shared with the world really work.

The Eyres have a great parenting website, and continue to publish books. Today's giveaway is their most recent book, and in my opinion, one of their best.

I've been reading this to get some ideas on how to teach G-Man how to work and how to be less entitled. He's at a pretty critical age. (You know, that age where every trip to the grocery store or Target is an ongoing conversation about why I can't buy him every single thing he sees?) And this book is just crammed with fabulous ideas to help. And lucky for you, you could win a copy of your very own!

You can enter up to two times by doing one of the following:

1 – Leave a comment below sharing the best parenting advice you've been given or heard someone give.

2 – Go to my brand new performer/blog page on Facebook, click “LIKE” and come back here to leave a comment to let me know you did it. (And that way, I won't bug you by sending you an invite through Facebook if we are already Facebook friends. *grin* And thanks in advance!)

I’ll be choosing the winner using Random.org, so if you want to have two separate entries in the giveaway, be sure to leave two separate comments.

Good luck! The winner will be announced on Tuesday!
