Beaming With Friend Pride

If you've known me for any amount of time, you've heard me talk about my dear friend Whitney Johnson. She's a mentor, friend, cheerleader and sounding board and I just adore her. I was thrilled to be invited to sing and speak at an event she did for Power of Moms last night, and I had a gigantic grin on my face just watching her speak about what she is so passionate about to a group of fantastic women who need to hear her message. It was a fabulous evening.

Then, after an inspiring and amazing day at Alt Summit (more on that later), I came home to watch Whitney's appearance on Studio 5 - a local mid-day talk show on KSL here in Utah. She was absolutely fantastic. Take a few minutes and watch this. I'll wait.

Studio 5 - Whitney Johnson "Dare, Dream, Do"

I love so many things she said, but the thing that is resonating with me the most right now is that children are most affected by the unfulfilled dreams of their parents. That's powerful. I've seen that happen. I've lived it with my own mom. I don't want my children to feel they have to fulfill my dreams. I'm a pretty good dreamer - I'm good at coming up with ideas - but I'm going to spend some more time thinking about the "Do" part of "Dare, Dream, Do."

Whitney is speaking at Alt Summit tomorrow, and I absolutely can't wait to watch that audience fall in love with her too.
