Power of Moms Photo Contest

As many of you know, I have a little personal project that I try to squeeze into my photo shoots when I get the chance – photographing moms with their kids. You can read more about the project and how I started it here.

My friend Whitney let me know about a photo contest at a fantastic website for moms – Power of Moms. The call was for photos of moms and kids together, and I was thrilled to be able to enter some of my favorites from the last year:

Power of Moms Entry 1

Power of Moms Entry 2

Power of Moms Entry 3

Power of Moms Entry 4

Power of Moms Entry 5

These five photos are in the voting pool for the contest. Evidently, the voting portion has been going on for over a week, and I had no idea. If you have a chance, could you go over to this link and vote for my five photos? (When you get to the page, click on “View Photos and Vote”) You don’t have to register for anything, but you do have to scroll through a pretty big page to find the five photos. Each time you vote, you can vote for five photos by clicking the box below the photo. It appears that you can vote as many times as you want, but the page changes and the photos are in a different spot every time you come back to the voting page.

Thanks for your help! And check out the Power of Moms website while you are there. It’s fantastic!

Project 365: Day 43

Last Thursday, we had some free time in the evening when daddy was running late at the office.  So, we did what most people do.

Day 43

We built a fort, watched American Idol, and ate Spongebob Mac and Cheese.

Because of another project I’ve been working on, I’m thinking and reflecting a lot on this experience of being a mother and the effect it has had on me thus far. One thing I’m realizing – I need to work to structure my life so I can spend as much time as possible building forts. G-Man and I watched some videos of him from about a year ago. I can’t believe how much he has changed and how quickly the time goes.

Jenny – yes, the forts are fun. Now he wants to build one every day. We’re trying to learn about moderation in all things.

Janice – Thank you so much! I am out that way from time to time, and I am planning to come with Neal to the reunion and will be doing photo shoots while I’m there. Let’s keep in touch regarding that…

I have spent the last hour looking at all your photography. You have a great talent of bring out children’s eyes. I love those. I am disappointed you live on the east coast and me on the west coast. If you ever get out this way…maybe we can get all our family together for you to shoot:) Besides, I’d love to meet you! Oh, I just remembered the big reunion this July! Are you coming with Neal? Wanna work while you’re there?:)

JennyFebruary 16, 2010 - 1:26 pm

Happy Valentine’s Day!

We hope you have a wonderful day!

And enjoy this fabulous video that Diggity and G-Man made for me!

Macy
